First paddle in a long time


I was out on a kayak for about a half-hour this morning, the first paddling I've done since 1990-91. I was sea-trialing the Puffin Saco, a 12-foot folding yak, the next generation following the Puffin pictured.

On the road again

Just a half hour out on the bike, first exercise since the cold got me a week ago. Tomorrow, I'll paddle a kayak for the first time in almost two decades.

Down time

Darn! Two bicycle workouts and one in the gym and I'm down with a cold. It sure doesn't take much for this 67-year-old bod to break down.

I gotta come back real slow, like every other day for several weeks.

Instinctively, when the cold struck on Friday, I stopped exercise and have laid off the two weekend days as well. Yet studies show a cold is no reason to back off.
