Staying indoors for the walk/run

For now, I think I'll stay indoors on the treadmill for my thrice-weekly walk/run workout. To get the max out of my 20 minutes. And eventually to also work with weights in the same session.

It's the bicycle time outdoors that I want to build. Walking/running for 30 minutes burns 214 calories. Bicycling at about 15 km per hour for 30 minutes burns 299 calories. That's 40 percent more calories. Get up to 17-18 kmh (which I'll be doing after a couple of weeks back biking) and you burn 385. I'd love to be able to get up to an hour twice weekly and then up to two hours on Sundays.

That would be the way to shed at least a pound per week for the next year--to get down to my high-school weight by my 67th birthday.
